Barak Obama did it again! He convinced the American voters that he is the man for the job. Whether you agree with the (very slight) majority or not, God requires us to pray for leaders, for those in government given an incredible responsibility to lead a nation and influence the world.

I am reminded of the scripture that instructs us to pray for our politicians and leaders:

1 I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior…”

1 Timothy 2 v 1-3.

Prayer is a most powerful weapon. We need to be praying for acceptance of the Christian faith, we need the government’s protection in a time that a growing voice against Christian principles is gaining momentum. It is honourable to live godly lives in peace; wherever we can be used as a peacemaker, our Lord will be glorified. Praise Him. Pray that Obama’s eyes will be opened to His saving grace.

One day our king will return, live at peace with others as far as it is possible with you, until He comes again!

Shine brightly
