Today is Ash Wednesday, the day after Shrove Tuesday, where the abundance of food contained in our kitchens is used up (in pancake fillings!) ready for the beginning of Lent.

Lent isn’t just a time for ‘giving up’ some favourite food or pastime, but a time to regain focus on Jesus as the centrality of our lives. If you give up chocolate or a meal for the day what will you replace it with? More bible reading? Will you put the money aside to help a good cause? Lent isn’t merely an opportunity to abstain from certain practices or foods, it can be used for self-examination and reflection upon our desires and maybe the ways we use our time and money.

As a family we are preparing for Easter by following this study

If you would like to join us, please let me know… I am praying for renewed spiritual strength and insight, may God be glorified in me and in you.
Shine brightly
